Andros South Lodge

Andros South is one of the best run lodges in the Bahamas - a lodge focused on providing the finest bonefishing in the world. With South Andros Island's endless, diverse flats, cuts, creeks and virtually untouched "secret spots" the opportunities are boundless.

At Andros South, the guide staff has a deep understanding their flats and the right skills necessary to make your bonefishing experience a dream come true.

If you've looking for white linen tablecloths and Martha Stewart inspired sheets, look elsewhere. Andros South is not about style, it's about substance, about clean, spacious, comfortable accommodations, outstanding service and some of the finest bonefishing in the world. Expect daily encounters with large schools of 2 to 3 pound bonefish, with larger fish sometimes swimming the perimeters. The numbers make for an ideal spot for the beginning angler to get to know the ropes of flats fishing and for the experienced angler to get some always appreciated fast action. Most days you'll have many shots at tailing and cruising bonefish ranging from 5 to 8 pounds plus. We almost always see fish pushing the magic 10 lb. size - catching them is up to the angler. These opportunities will come while wading hard sand and marl flats or being poled along in one of their fully equipped flats skiffs.

If you grow tired of catching bonefish during your stay, there are other fishes to target. Large, aggressive barracuda are plentiful and hungry. If you have never experienced the explosive strike of a cuda be prepared for reel emptying runs and amazing acrobatics. You may also cast to tarpon rolling in the cuts or along mangrove lined lagoons, tailing permit and colorful (and tasty)snapper.

This lodge caters to serious bone fishing enthusiasts and beginners as well. The depth and experience of their guides and staff makes this a truly special place.

Travel- Getting to Andros South

Andros South is a 20-minute drive from the Congo Town airport on South Andros. There are a couple of options for flying into Congo Town.

The most popular option is Western Air. Western operates two flights each day from nearby Nassau. Guests typically take the afternoon flight from Nassau to Congo Town on their arrival day, and the morning flight from Congo Town to Nassau on their departure day. We recommend arriving in Nassau at least 2 hours before your flight to Congo Town on arrival day, and 3 hours between arriving back in Nassau on departure day and your first connection homeward. Reservations can be made with Western Air at (242)377-2222.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Western Air accepts only cash for payment. When checking in with Western Air in Nassau, you will need $140 in cash, either US or Bahamian ($1 US = $1 Bahamian), to pay for your round-trip ticket (double check prices when making reservations as rates do change without notice).

Groups of more than 6 persons may also consider a private charter from Ft. Lauderdale. While more expensive than a commercial flight, private charters offer a personalized schedule and less overall hassle. We work with several charter companies and would be happy to work with you to reserve a charter.

Once you arrive in Congo Town, a representative of the lodge will meet you at the airport for the short drive to the lodge.
